This Weeks Points Lesson

At the bottom of this newsletter, you see a list of different deals when purchasing points or miles from the various programs. The question should be in your mind: Is it worth it to buy miles or points even with the bonus?

That is this week’s points lesson…There are very few times purchasing points is worth your money. It is incredibly important that you know the value of the points before you purchase. This will tell you if purchasing them is worth it. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule.

  • Get 15x points at CVS with Capital One Cards. You will need to activate the deal on your Capital One account. This deal is good until August 10th.

  • Chase is no longer offering their Chase Freedom Flex card to the general public. If you still wish to obtain it, you will need to access it through this private link.

  • If you stay at a Best Western branded property between May 12th and September 1st you can receive 10,000 bonus points after you stay for 3 nights (earn up to 20,000 points). Read more here.

  • If you stay at an IHG-branded property between May 20th and August 31st, you can earn either 2,000 bonus points for every two nights or 8,000 bonus points for every four nights. Read more here.

  • You can get special perks if you stay at a Kimpton hotel between May 19th and August 31st and use the social password “social sent me” during check-in.

  • If you stay at a Marriott Homes and Villas property (Marriott’s version of Airbnb) between June 1st and January 4th of 2026 and spend at least $1,500, you can reactivate 40,000 Marriott points.
